红门堡建筑群的总体布局，隐一个“王”字在内，又附会着龙的造型。除前堂后寝的院落外，为顺应地形，一部分又应变为前园后院。各院间有的富丽堂皇，有的曲幽小巧。其砖、木、石三雕，有些因出自乾隆早期，古朴粗犷，还保留着明代风格;大多数同高家崖一样，皆清代“纤细繁密”之典范。设立于红门堡东三甲的中华王氏博物馆，是目前海内外惟一的王氏家族文化博物馆，开馆后，几乎天天都有来自国内外的王姓族人到此旅游观光、寻根谒祖或信函、电话咨询。
